If you’ve watched my paint-by-number videos over the years, chances are you’ve seen these little brushes in action—a LOT. The 2/0 and 5/0 Mini Flats have been two of my absolute favorite brushes for years. I reached for them again and again in my videos, and they quickly became customer favorites, too.

Then they sold out—and stayed sold out for 2½ years. Now the Melanie B. Mini Flat Duo is finally back in limited quantities!

WHAT’S INCLUDED: 2/0 Mini Flat + 5/0 Mini Flat

These are two extremely small flat brushes specifically designed for the tiny spaces, narrow edges, corners and intricate details that make paint by number its own unique kind of painting. But the real magic happens when they’re wet. As the bristles are loaded with paint, they taper inward to create an amazingly precise point, allowing you to reach into even the tiniest spaces while still giving you the control, paint-carrying ability and crisp working edge of a flat brush.

Don’t let the close-up photos fool you—these really are MINI flats! The 5/0 is the smaller of the pair, but both are exceptionally small brushes designed for precision work.

These aren’t generic artist brushes that I happened to discover worked well for paint by number. They were specifically designed for PBN by a paint-by-number artist with eight years of experience. I know firsthand how frustrating those ridiculously small spaces, skinny sections, sharp corners and awkward little areas can be—and these are the brushes I personally reach for to paint them.
